Sharing a book and the experience of the read with someone else is the next best thing to reading and collecting for many a true book enthusiast. What better way to share the excitement and passion than by literally passing a book along to another bibliophile.
The concept is really rather simple. You leave a book in a public place; someone picks it up, experiences the joy, tells the community and then passes it on to the next reader to enjoy. If you are not comfortable dropping the book in a public place, why not donate your books to a local charity, library, hospital or retirement home, and pass along the joy of reading!
This keeps books in circulation and helps the environment by recycling. As an added bonus, it is simply fun to see where it travels, what the reader thought of the book and make that connection with a fellow book lover. Remember, if you just can't part with a favorite book, or collect rare books, you can always obtain a copy of your favorite book to drop and share. Check out our classifieds, you might find an extra copy there!
Download the labels, insert your Biblio Connection user name and insert it into a book. Drop the book in a public spot (park bench, subway or bus seat, local coffee shop, etc.). Imagine people finding copies of books in unexpected places!
If you drop or donate a book: Login and tell the community which book you dropped and where you left it. Give your thoughts on the book – good or bad.
If you find a book: Take it. Login and tell the community what book you found, where you found it and which member dropped or donated it. Read it, enjoy it and then keep it moving forward by dropping it in a new location for the next lucky reader. And don't forget to at least send a message to the member that dropped the book to say thank you.
